More Than Kicks and Punches: How Reveal Martial Arts Is Making an Impact in Local Schools

Reveal instructor teaching martial arts at Schluter Elementary in Haslet

When most people think of martial arts, they think of kicks, punches, and breaking boards.

But when Reveal Martial Arts visits local elementary and middle schools, we teach something much more important first:

Confidence. Respect. Focus. Leadership.

Over the years, our Reveal instructors have had the privilege of visiting schools across Southlake, Haslet, Fort Worth, and the Alliance / Heritage Trace area, where we spend the entire day working with students — class by class — teaching life skills, confidence, and martial arts.

What We Teach During Our School Visits

Our school programs are high-energy, fun, and interactive, but they are also built around important life skills that students can use every single day in the classroom and at home.

During our school visits, students learn how to:

  • Stand tall with confidence
  • Make strong eye contact
  • Speak with a clear, loud voice
  • Show respect to teachers and parents
  • Believe in themselves

These are simple skills — but they are powerful skills that many children struggle with today.

The Reveal Life Skills

We also introduce students to the same life skills we teach every day at Reveal Martial Arts:

  • Courtesy
  • Integrity
  • Perseverance
  • Self-Control
  • Indomitable Spirit
  • Teamwork

These are not just martial arts words. These are life skills that help children become better students, better friends, and better leaders.

Yes — They Also Learn Cool Taekwondo!

Of course, we make the day incredibly fun too.

Students learn basic Taekwondo moves, blocks, kicks, and self-defense basics. They get to move, yell, practice focus, and experience martial arts in a safe and structured environment.

For many students, this is their very first introduction to martial arts — and they absolutely love it.

Recognizing Effort and Determination

One of the most exciting parts of the day is when teachers help us select one boy and one girl from each class who demonstrated:

  • Great effort
  • Strong listening skills
  • Respect
  • Determination
  • Positive attitude

These students are recognized in front of their classmates and earn the opportunity to break a real wooden board.

Breaking a board isn’t just about strength — it’s about focus, courage, and believing in yourself. For many students, it’s a moment they never forget.

Partnering With Schools Through Fundraisers

We are incredibly proud not only to work with local schools, but also to help support them through fundraising programs.

Through events like Parent’s Night Out, Confidence Courses, and special school partnerships, Reveal Martial Arts has helped raise money for local schools and PTAs.

Recently, with the help of amazing students and supportive families, we were able to give back:

  • $585 to Carter Elementary
  • $600 to Boyd Elementary
  • $1,000 to Beck Elementary PTA

This is what happens when a community comes together.

This is bigger than martial arts.

This is leadership. This is service. This is community.

A High-Energy Day Students Never Forget

When Reveal Martial Arts visits a school, the entire day is filled with energy, movement, laughter, and learning.

But more importantly, students leave with something bigger than just a fun memory.

They leave knowing:

  • How to stand tall
  • How to speak clearly
  • How to look someone in the eye
  • How to push through something difficult
  • How to believe in themselves

And those lessons last far longer than a single school day.
